How I chose an online backup service

A co-worker was telling me at lunch last week that his computer repair tech told him he should start storing his important information in a backup somewhere. I had never really thought about it, but it certainly did make sense to me. What would I do if my PC crashed and I lost all my digital photos, videos, and tax information. I figured it was a worth while idea. He told me he had been considering an online backup service, but wasn’t sure which company to choose since there were just so many.

If there’s one thing I pride myself on it’s my savvy research skills on the web. I decided to look for an online backup review of each of the top services we found. It turned out that most of the companies offered a similar service so it came down to how they did the backup, how easy we could access files we had backed up and of course the price. I’ve made my selection and have always suggested my co-worker sign up with the same company. I just hope he does so before anything happens to his computer.
