Often you will face struggles when raising your teenage son or daughter. Frequently teens are headstrong and seek independence, even though they may not seem to have the skills to face everything in life. It is normal to be concerned about your teens, but I am here to give you some parenting tips to help you through this phase.
Above all, you need to remember that you have raised your children and instilled them with a sense of right and wrong. Even amongst peer pressure and the desire to try new things, this internal compass will steer your child right in the end. You should sit and think about the major boundaries to set for your child so they do not harm themselves, but aside from major issues, learn to pick your battles. If you relent once in a while and you’re open to reasoning with your son or daughter, they are more likely to respect your wishes when you are firm. Parenting can be difficult, but if you are fair and maintain communication with your child, you will make it through their teen years pain free.
