How Flow Meter works

July 11th, 2011 by admin

Perhaps the best known of the family variable area Flow Meter is “Rotameters,” the first patent in the United States in 1868. In its basic form consists Rotameters a tapered glass tube vertically oriented with the larger end of the above, and a metering float, which is free to move in the pipe. Fluid Power will begin to float up into the tube as the pressure differential on the rise and buoyancy of the fluid overcome the effect of gravity. The float will rise until the annular area between the float and the tube increases sufficiently to make room for a dynamic equilibrium (top) the difference in pressure and relevant factors, and (bottom) gravitational factors.
