Our strengths in PvE were extremely straight forward, as Ret Paladins. My friend from Spoken Word New York often told me that I should probably roll a Paladin just to go Ret, since eventually they will get a gear set that changes everything. He was right: in one of the last patch updates for Wrath of the Lich King, Paladins got a set with a bonus for 2 pieces worn that was amazing. It gave your Divine Storm, a powerful area-of-effect attack, a 40% chance to refresh it’s cooldown when you attack with other abilities. It literally increased damage per second by thousands.
