South Africa is hosting the FIFA world cup this year, and a lot of visitors are expected to turn up. If you plan on visiting South Africa, there are things that you need to know in order to have a safe and pleasant trip. You may be asking yourself, do I need yellow fever vaccination for South Africa, despite the fact that South Africa is not a yellow fever endemic zone? The answer is yes. South Africa requires travellers who will be arriving from yellow fever infected areas or countries to show papers proving that they have been vaccinated against yellow fever. If you have not been vaccinated, you will either be kept under observation for five days, vaccinated at your own cost, or even denied entry. Make sure that all of your vaccination papers are with you when you visit South Africa.
