Ever since I was a little boy, we have used wood to heat our home.  We have always had a wood burning stove to keep the main level warm and toasty.  When I got married and we bought our first home, I was excited that the home had two huge fireplace in the great room and kitchen area. We decided to get a couple wood burning fireplace inserts to use to heat the main level of the house.  When we started using them, we realized that they were putting out enough heat to keep the whole house warm.  We installed a few fans and now we are warm and cozy.
