Kinesio tape for IT band syndrome

I started training for a triathlon three months ago. With all the running, cycling and swimming I expected some aches and pains. As training went on and I started doing double days, working out in the morning and at night, I started getting this nagging knee pain on the outside of my knee. I have seen and heard of this magic tape called Kinesio tape that is supposed to help many sports injuries. I found a chiropractor that does Kinesio Tape in Houston and she diagnosed me with IT band syndrome. She taped my knee and told me I could wear it for 3-5 days. She also did a bunch of soft tissue work on my IT band, wow was that painful. I know I have a ways to go to recover but I feel that I am on the right track.
