I was speaking to a few friends and found out that my California car insurance rates were much higher than my friends.  I was curious as to why I was paying so much more.  I called my insurance agent and they said that the only way to lower my rate was to add other types of insurance to my portfolio.  My friends said that I should shop around and suggested a website that may help me.  The website was able to give me quotes from more than one agency.  Thanks to my friends and the website I was able to lower my premiums.
