My 6-year-old son Travis got an iPod for his birthday, and it came preloaded with lullabies and nursery rhymes. Travis disliked nursery rhymes and lullabies and would rather listen to rock music, so he asked me, “Mommy, can I erase songs from my iPod?” I laughed and asked, “Are you asking me for my permission, or for my help”. “Both”, he answered impishly. I couldn’t resist my little boy’s sheepish grin, so I took his iPod and deleted the songs on it for him. I also filled it up with songs from his favourite rock bands. He thanked me, jumped up and gave me a hug, and immediately plugged his iPod in to our home theatre system. Three hours later, after listening to wailing guitars and pounding drums, I started to regret loading his iPod with music.
